What are your plans for your company for the next 10 years? For the next 5 years? Or even just for the coming year? There is rarely a simple answer to this question. Too many factors play a role, too much changes too quickly. But one thing is clear: standing still is not an option. Digitalization and automation are topics that can also be tackled in small, feasible steps. The important thing is to get started—that means optimizing processes step by step and thereby building future viability.
This is precisely the credo that syskomp gehmeyr GmbH impressively presented at the SG touchday 2025 on September 24 and 25 in Amberg. Under the motto “manual automation,” our partner showed how the path from simple, manually supported processes to fully automated cells can look.
One of our personal highlights was definitely the ShowLine – a production line that starts with several assembly workstations and extends through quality control to the packaging of the finished product. First, syskomp gehmeyr presented the entire process without automation – including work instructions on paper. This was followed by a direct comparison. The same process was presented again – but this time with partially automated or digitized process steps. Work instructions were no longer provided on paper, but digitally on screens in weasl. This gave visitors a very good insight into the different approaches possible in the context of automation and digitization and how they could look in practice in production.
In addition to the practical demonstration, an exciting program of presentations provided further inspiration. The thematic focus was on artificial intelligence. From everyday applications to the use of AI in the production environment, the speakers highlighted a wide range of scenarios and stimulated discussion.
However, the intensive exchange – both with interested visitors and with partners and the syskomp gehmeyr team – was particularly valuable for us in every respect. Many conversations provided new inspiration and ideas for the future.
Our conclusion:
SG touchday 2025 was an excellent platform for us to exchange ideas and expertise—both with open-minded visitors and with partners. The event’s high degree of practical relevance was undoubtedly a particular plus.
At this point, we would also like to express our sincere thanks to syskomp gehmeyr GmbH for the excellent planning and implementation of this successful event. One thing is certain: we will be very happy to participate again next time.
